statement

In my work I seek the essence of human interaction, in the spoken and unspoken ways people communicate with each other through body language and gesture.  Painting the figure in an interior space is a way for me to give the viewer a somewhat voyeuristic look into the figure's anxiety, urgency, or obliviousness to tension.  My current work is about realizing the complexity of human behavior while celebrating its inherent ambiguity and mystery.  The act of painting is an attempt to communicate things that cannot be said simply.
