statement
Sliding backwards in slow motion, I notice the Chevy symbol closing in on my windshield is a perfect square on top of a parallelogram. As time slips, light slows, bends, and breaks to reveal a fractured reality that intensifies the minutia and overlooked.
My work exposes the heightened perception and disorientation that coexist during protracted moments of crisis. Born of intuitive gesture, my paintings develop an internalized structure out of which I manipulate and distort space. By representing conflicting perspectives, I lure my viewer into the liminal space between abstraction and representation that approaches the urgency of disaster.
