statement
My paintings manifest transformation, both in nature and of consciousness.
I am interested in how the life force expresses itself in the world of form. Toward that end, I seek to impel and influence, but not control, the energy flows that arrange acrylic paint on canvas.
My goal is to channel the poetry of the universe into visual images possessing the power to move our emotions, even though our minds cannot understand the language.
I seek to examine the elements that produce change, whether in nature or within an individual's inner world. Many of my works reflect my desire to give visual voice to the forces that propel human action.
As I delve into change and adaptation, some of my paintings freeze a moment of explosive energy, while others provide a meditation on life's beginnings. Both express progression and vitality.
Drawing inspiration from natural phenomena, my paintings reflect biological, geological and cartographic influences. By harnessing the fluid dynamics of various viscosities and textures of acrylic paints, I seek to produce fixed works that express movement and change.
