statement
As a society we are successively bombarded with random imagery, but we have adapted to compartmentalize this conflicting information. In the realm of painting, however, the viewer inevitably searches for a relationship between arbitrary images before dismissing the combination for lacking substance. My goal is to reward the viewer who seeks meaning. The meaning will not reveal a singular narrative, but will offer multiple interpretations. My paintings serve to engage the viewer as participant, rather than recipient.
