statement
I like the rawness and immediacy of beginnings, the part before anything substantial has been established, and making moves void of fear and critical apprehensions is possible because there isn't anything to lose.
Staying Longer (green) is one piece in a series of works in which I challenged myself to maintain this same openness and lack of yes no right wrong beyond the starts of my paintings, through all the proceeding moments, in order to create art that is free of inhibition, hesitation, and self-consciousness; art that is about navigation rather than control.
