statement
Painting today enjoys a rich analog past and an uncertain digital future. I see the space in my painting as caught between these two channels, where illusions are built, pulled apart, reconfigured, and reconstructed during the viewing experience. I search for a balance between states of being, where a constant dialogue exists between a fixed visual structure or idea and the editing, decomposing and reconfiguration of that structure in the medium of paint. Fragments of information are hacked-into, added, subtracted and juxtaposed as a multilayered experience develops of simultaneously forming and dissolving images and ideas.
