statement
I am interested in the tension between chance and control. Produced predominantly from observation, my work is a response to my experiences with objects and spaces. Through a process of editing, manipulation and reconstruction, I surrender components of my work to chance, thus creating unpredictable marks and unanticipated imagery, that both reinvigorate the surface of the painting as well provide an alternate reading of the recognizable and ambiguous nature of our surroundings
