statement
The works are a narrative where paint is both the image and the medium, a flickering of recognition and misunderstandings. Each painting is an accumulation of ideas. Each mark is a decision affecting the whole, growing and feeding off one another.
The images come from stories I have heard, told, imagined and more often misunderstood. I am interested in an understanding of my own perception to quantify the object painted. My work focuses on the potential for unifying the visual language of shapes and colors seen.
