statement
In this work from my Industrious series, people have stepped aside and fallen silent. They have collected their tools, hard hats, and fast food rubbish, leaving only the structures to speak to us. Photography is not the only method for us to translate these industrial spaces, but I feel compelled to understand what I see in this way.
In these places, the elegant industrial cathedrals of the early 20th century are forgotten. At first, they communicate only a vague utilitarian beauty, and we prepare to render judgment. Then, we pause. Gradually, accidentally, the sublime is revealed when light meets form and the resultant combination meets our curious eyes.
