statement
This series combines my long-time interest in horticulture and more recent explorations with iPhone apps.
The winter garden reveals structure and form, emphasized by a comparative lack of color.
This image captures Hydrangea petiolaris -- a lovely winter subject, with exfoliating bark and persistent dried corymbs, some with sterile flowers still attached at the periphery.
I particularly liked this black and white effect produced with a LoMob filter (on iPad Mini).
