statement
I think of materials as individuals, and I obsessively work with a material until I feel as if I know how it would want best to be used. It is through my relationships with material that I try to make sense of the other interactions that fascinate me. My recent work deals with the idea of relationships that both constrain and support us. I first turned to photography as a means of research and for the documentation of performances. Since working more in the darkroom and constructing cameras out of wood through a workshop with Louis Krueger I have come to respect photography as a medium both performative and sculptural.
