These works are part of a series of eight ink drawings on paper concerning the duality of burden and lightness; the way in which the same things that we must carry can also lift us.

Drawing has long been a key aspect in the creation of my painting and pastel work. All of my pieces begin in my sketchbook rather than working from scratch on the canvas or board. Recently I have been using ink drawing as a finished media for larger works.
