I make large-scale abstract drawings that explore the relationship between the meat of the body and the cognitive powers of the mind. My work is driven by a profound and personal fascination with the mark, and an unabashed love for the sensation of mark-making on a larger-than-life scale.
The drawings are not imitations of any aspect of nature, nor are they illustrations of a limited conceptual hypothesis. Instead they celebrate the peculiar properties of drawing as a relic of the physical act of drawing. The drawings are the remains of a performance, spell, ritual, or investigation acted out in the privacy of the studio.
