statement

Much of my work seeks to evoke crystallized, meditative moments centered on single figures embedded in metaphorical environments that are often stripped of overt narrative cues.  My life drawings are typically more formal than conceptual in their emphasis and also utilize a vacant or near-vacant ground.  This formal concern and figure-ground organization are meant to support the suggestion of suspended possibilities latent in moments of isolation and banality.
