statement
I work in a collage and drawing-based aesthetic because it suits both the content of my work and the process by which that content can be translated into visual terms. Recent works are emblematic of themes that have always driven me; these themes include my own attempts to reconcile the logical with the spiritual, and the parallel contradiction that exists in our collective attempts to respond to technology and the "built world" as they battle with and merge with the natural. I was raised by a mathematician and a musician, and I have a deep love for the intertwining of these two things (along with a healthy dose of chaos and chance). It is my hope that the viewer will find enough common ground with the work of my hands to participate in this implied dialogue as well.
