Most
of my work begins as a drawing, in varying degrees of finish.
It is really only in the last year that I've had the confidence
from showing paintings as finished pieces to now show drawings
as finished work. I've found the way I work on the drawings
forces me to commit to choices early on. My drawings have
also been influenced by the way I paint and sculpt. I like
the humbleness of drawings. They don't get the credit that
oil paintings and bronze sculpture, but they can rival them
for content. I like the fragility of drawing materials. I
thinks its good for me to remember the imperminance and delicacy
of paper and life.
