statement
An element of paintings that I find really appealing is how they can accumulate over time. A painting doesn't have the clean editing process that an essay or a piece of music would. It contains histories of conflicting ideas and attitude, of resonant and dissonant moments. It's a record of a reconciliation process for present, past, and future.
