statement
Working with a reductive/abstractionist view, my interest centers within the use of line and mark-making. Specifically and most importantly an examination of the fundamental idea of simplicity.
Over the last several years my work has centered around the use of line and drips as well as other forms of mark-making to create meditative abstractions which examine the fundamental ideas behind chaos theory, order and repetition. Working with a pared down, mostly monochromatic palette, focuses on the physicality of my technique building layer upon layer to create an almost tangible perception of space and volume.
