statement
Known for his monumental figurative paintings and drawings, Jason Lee Gimbelís works are based on formal associations incorporating visual metaphors that explore the experimental challenge to reinterpret figurative art. Gimbelís conceptual approach pushes figurative representation to the edges of representation and, in some instances, into abstraction. Developed from years of figurative studies in and outside of traditional life drawing settings.
